House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of her major primary victory that led to her election to Congress. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Stefanik reflected on her journey from turning a blue stronghold red to the implications of growing GOP momentum in New York for former President Trump come Election Day.
Stefanik highlighted the increasing Republican support in New York, attributing the party’s success to fair district lines and strong grassroots efforts. She emphasized the importance of holding onto and flipping seats in the state to expand the House majority.
A decade ago, Stefanik made history by becoming the youngest woman ever elected to Congress in United States history. Since then, she has built a strong GOP infrastructure locally, resulting in Republicans flipping multiple county seats and town leadership positions in upstate New York.
As the GOP gains momentum in New York, Stefanik pointed to the failures of Democratic policies at both the federal and state levels. She emphasized the Republican values of supporting law enforcement, border security, and economic growth as key factors in the party’s success.
Stefanik also addressed the issue of antisemitism within the Democratic Party, calling for it to be rooted out and destroyed. She highlighted her efforts to combat antisemitism on college campuses and criticized the lack of moral leadership on the issue.
Looking ahead to November’s election, Stefanik argued that Trump is gaining more support in response to what she called the weaponization of the courts against him. She emphasized the growth of the Republican Party under Trump’s leadership and the historic support from minority voters.
Stefanik’s leadership in increasing the number of Republican women in Congress was also highlighted, with her founding of Elevate PAC to support conservative women running for office. She emphasized the importance of women voters caring about a range of issues beyond just abortion access.
As Stefanik continues to serve her fifth term in Congress, she remains a strong advocate for the Republican Party and President Trump. With New York becoming increasingly Republican, the state could play a crucial role in the upcoming election.
