Near Protocol Introduces Multichain Transactions Capability

The Near Foundation has unveiled a groundbreaking feature called Chain Signatures, revolutionizing the way users can transact across multiple blockchains with just one Near account. This new technology simplifies multichain transactions and enhances cross-chain interoperability, providing a unified user experience across different blockchain ecosystems.

Powered by a decentralized MPC network and secured by Near and EigenLayer’s stakers, Chain Signatures support a wide range of blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Cosmos, and XRP Ledger. The Near Foundation also has plans to expand support to additional networks like Solana, The Open Network, and Polkadot, further extending the utility of this feature.

In addition to Chain Signatures, the Near Foundation is launching the Multichain Gas Relayer, which eliminates the need to own the native gas token of another chain to make transactions. Users can now pay with NEAR or NEP-141 tokens to cover gas on any supported chain, simplifying the transaction process.

With the testnet phase already underway and a mainnet launch expected by early May, this new feature will enhance decentralization, interoperability, and ease of use in the blockchain space. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development in the world of decentralized finance.
