Brooke Shields, the iconic actress known for her roles in films like “The Blue Lagoon” and “Pretty Baby,” recently opened up about the emotional experience of becoming an empty nester. In a heartfelt social media video, Shields shared her feelings after dropping off her youngest daughter at college.

The 59-year-old actress candidly expressed how difficult it was to say goodbye to her daughter, admitting that “it’s not easy” being an empty nester. Shields, who shares two daughters with her husband Chris Henchy, revealed that both of her “baby birds have left the nest” as her youngest daughter started her freshman year.

Shields recounted the tearful moment when she had to say goodbye to her daughter, revealing that both she and her daughter cried during the emotional farewell. Despite the sadness of being an empty nester, Shields acknowledged that her daughters are close to her and her husband, and she believes they will always come back like a “rubber band.”

The actress previously admitted that she wasn’t fully prepared for the empty nest phase, despite knowing it was coming. Shields and Henchy’s oldest daughter is a senior in college, while their youngest has just started her freshman year.

Shields and Henchy met by chance in 1999 when Shields introduced her new dog to friends on the Warner Bros. lot where Henchy was working. The couple got married in 2001 and welcomed their daughters, Rowan and Grier, in 2003 and 2006, respectively.

As Shields navigates this new chapter in her life, she continues to share her journey with her fans on social media, offering a glimpse into the bittersweet experience of being an empty nester.
