The recent watch fair in London showcased a wide array of special timepieces created by exhibitors, with nearly half of them offering unique designs for the event. One standout piece was a one-of-a-kind 38-millimeter wristwatch with a single-wheel coaxial escapement in a red gold case, created by Mr. Smith and sold by lottery with a reserve price of £297,500.

However, not all the options at the fair were as pricey. Clemence Watches of Edinburgh sold all four of its special edition automatic Munro watches featuring the word “Britain” on the dial for £650 each. Similarly, Beaucroft from Cambridge offered a special version of its Seeker watch for £450, with all 25 timepieces selling out.

According to Mr. Audsley, one of the exhibitors, the hope is that these special editions will not only attract customers to the brands but also raise awareness of their other watch collections. One brand that drew a lot of attention at the fair was Studio Underd0g, founded by Richard Benc, which offered two versions of its Pizza Party watch for £550 each. One dial featured a pizza with pepperoni, basil leaves, and mushrooms, while the other showcased the controversial ham and pineapple combination.

Fans of Studio Underd0g praised the brand’s creativity and unique designs, with one attendee even flying in from Amsterdam to attend the fair. The mix of horology and sass in Mr. Benc’s creations has certainly captured the hearts of watch enthusiasts, making his brand a standout at the event.
