Strictly Come Dancing duo Wynne Evans and Katya Jones have addressed the recent speculation surrounding their interactions on Saturday’s programme, reassuring fans that all is well between them.

During the show, viewers noticed what appeared to be awkward moments between the pair, including Jones declining a high-five from Evans and later moving his hand from her waist. However, in a social media video, the duo explained that these moments were simply part of their playful dynamic and should not be taken out of context.

Jones dismissed any suggestion that she felt uncomfortable or offended by the incidents, calling them “complete nonsense.” The BBC, meanwhile, declined to comment on the matter.

A source from Strictly Come Dancing confirmed that the welfare team had checked in on Evans and Jones and no further actions were planned. The high-five incident occurred on the Strictly balcony, where contestants wait to receive judges’ scores, and was followed by a light-hearted explanation from the pair in a video.

Evans, known for his role as Gio Compario in Go Compare advertisements, emphasized that he and Jones are “really amazing friends” and that the high-five was a running joke between them. Jones also clarified that the hand incident was an inside joke and should not be misconstrued.

Their tango performance to the Abba song “Money, Money, Money” received positive feedback from the judges, with Jones seen clapping and hugging Evans afterwards. The duo, who have been paired for series 22 of Strictly, have been praised for their chemistry on the dancefloor.

As the show continues, fans can look forward to more dazzling performances from Evans and Jones, who are focused on showcasing their dancing skills and having fun together.
