Budget airline Wizz Air has made headlines with the launch of its ‘all you can fly’ subscription, offering customers unlimited flights for an annual fee of 499 euros. This new concept, similar to offerings from Frontier Airlines in the US and AirAsia in Malaysia, has sparked interest among frequent travelers looking for a cost-effective way to explore multiple destinations.
However, Wizz Air has faced criticism in the UK for its customer service and flight delays, with the airline being named the worst for UK flight delays for the third consecutive year. Despite this, the airline is pushing forward with its subscription model, with a discounted price available until August 16 before rising to 599 euros.
Subscribers will have the opportunity to travel to various destinations in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia by booking flights at least three days in advance and paying a flat fee of 9.99 euros. The airline has limited the number of subscriptions to 10,000, distributed across its operating airports, but some airport options are already sold out.
The terms and conditions of the subscription warn that seat availability is not guaranteed and will depend on various factors. Additionally, Hungary’s competition authority recently fined Wizz Air for misleading communications and the airline reported a 44% drop in first-quarter operating profit.
Despite these challenges, Wizz Air’s ‘all you can fly’ subscription is an innovative offering that could appeal to frequent travelers looking for a budget-friendly way to explore multiple destinations.
