At 93 years old, William Shatner continues to surprise us with his candid revelations about his iconic role as Capt. James T. Kirk on the original “Star Trek” TV series. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the legendary actor admitted that he has only seen a “few” episodes of his own work and has “never seen” any of the spinoffs.
Shatner confessed, “I don’t like to look at myself, and I’ve never seen any other. I love it, I think it’s great. I just don’t, you know, I don’t watch television, per se.” Despite his lack of interest in watching TV, Shatner remains open to the idea of reprising his role as Captain Kirk if there is a genuine reason for the character to return.
While the chances of Captain Kirk making a comeback may be slim, Shatner’s adventurous spirit and zest for life continue to shine through. In a previous interview, he reflected on his legacy and the limited time he has left, stating, “I don’t have long to live. Whether I keel over as I’m speaking to you or 10 years from now, my time is limited, so that’s very much a factor.”
As fans eagerly await any potential return of Captain Kirk, Shatner’s candid remarks and enduring passion for life serve as a reminder of his timeless appeal and enduring legacy in the world of entertainment.
