Vice President Kamala Harris to Break Interview Drought with CNN’s Dana Bash

After 38 days of avoiding substantive interviews, Vice President Kamala Harris has finally agreed to sit down with CNN’s Dana Bash. The interview, which will also feature running mate Tim Walz, is set to be taped on Thursday and will air that night.

Harris has faced mounting pressure to address the media after weeks of stonewalling. Despite insisting on scheduling an interview before the end of the month back on Aug. 9, it took another 18 days for one to finally be announced.

Critics have pointed out Harris’ avoidance of tough questions in the past, noting her struggles with providing clear and concise answers. The upcoming interview with Bash will likely touch on Harris’ policy shifts from 2020 to 2024, as well as key foreign policy issues such as Israel and Ukraine.

Former President Trump has highlighted the disparity in media availability between himself and Harris, sitting for several lengthy interviews and holding press conferences. Harris, on the other hand, has largely avoided formal press conferences, with one Fox News contributor predicting she will not hold one in the next 75 days leading up to Election Day.

As Harris gears up for the interview with Bash, the Wall Street Journal editorial board has criticized her lack of policy substance in her Democratic nomination acceptance speech. The board noted several “falsehoods” in her speech and questioned whether she can maintain her current presentation for the next 12 weeks.

The upcoming interview with Bash will provide a platform for Harris to address these criticisms and outline her vision for the presidency. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
