R&B singer Ms Ventura accuses rap mogul of assault and harassment
In a shocking turn of events, R&B singer Ms Ventura has come forward with allegations of assault and harassment against rap mogul Mr Combs. The disturbing incident was captured on video, showing Mr Combs grabbing and throwing Ms Ventura to the floor, kicking her while she was down, and attempting to drag her by her shirt.
According to Ms Ventura’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, the gut-wrenching video has only confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr Combs. The incident is just one in a series of allegations against the rap mogul, including a federal lawsuit last year where Ms Ventura alleged that Mr Combs punched her in the face, giving her a black eye.
The lawsuit also claimed that Mr Combs became extremely intoxicated and threw glass vases at Ms Ventura as she tried to escape the hotel room. The legal action against Mr Combs, which accused him of rape and sexual trafficking, was settled for an undisclosed sum last year.
Since then, multiple other women have come forward with similar allegations against Mr Combs, leading to federal investigations into human trafficking at his homes in Los Angeles and Miami, Florida. Ms Ventura, who was formally signed to Mr Combs’ record label, Bad Boy, has released several hits in the 2000s, including songs featuring Diddy.
The settlement of the lawsuit does not imply an admission of wrongdoing on Mr Combs’ part, according to his lawyer Benjamin Brafman. However, the disturbing video and Ms Ventura’s courage in coming forward have shed light on the dark side of the music industry and the abuse of power by those in positions of influence.
