French artists Pierre Commoy and Gilles Blanchard, known as Pierre et Gilles, have unveiled a stunning painting of singer Sam Smith at the National Portrait Gallery in London. The artwork, titled Gloria, features Smith sitting in heavenly surroundings playing a harp, adorned with angel wings designed by JW Anderson.
Smith expressed their gratitude, calling it “an honour” to have their portrait displayed alongside other notable figures in the History Makers gallery. The painting, created in 2023, captures the essence of Smith’s music and persona, blending reality with dreams and fantasies.
