Ukraine’s Navy has released satellite images showing the destruction of a Russian warehouse used for launching Iranian-made drones and training cadets. The photos, posted on social media, come after reports of a massive explosion near a Russian airfield in Krasnodar.
According to Navy officials in Kyiv, the attack on the warehouse resulted in the deaths of training instructors and cadets learning to operate the Iranian-made drones. The operation was said to have been planned and executed in partnership with Ukrainian intelligence agencies.
The base, located on the Sea of Azov opposite the occupied Ukrainian city of Mariupol, was targeted on the night of June 21. The satellite images revealed significant damage to the facilities, including training buildings, control points, and communication centers.
In response, Russia claimed to have shot down 114 drones during a Ukrainian attack on oil refineries and military targets in the south of the country. However, they did not mention the attack on the drone base. Russian-installed officials in occupied Crimea also reported casualties from a Ukrainian missile attack on the peninsula.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone attacks in Russia’s Belgorod region and missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv resulted in further casualties and damage. President Volodymyr Zelensky renewed his appeal to Western nations for air defense systems to combat Russian aggression.
The escalating conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to intensify, with both sides engaging in military actions that have led to casualties and destruction. The situation remains volatile as both countries navigate the complexities of the ongoing conflict.
