The Hashgraph Association (THA), Adanian Labs, and The Africa Blockchain Centre (ABC) have joined forces to launch the DLT Africa Regional Developer Program, aiming to empower over 3,000 Web3 developers across Africa. The program will provide comprehensive Web3 training, strategic collaboration, and practical experience to participants.
The partnership will focus on equipping tech-savvy students in Kenya, Nigeria, Malawi, Rwanda, and South Africa with essential Web3 skills, including blockchain technology and the Hedera network. Participants will have the opportunity to become Hedera-Certified Developers (HCD) upon successful completion of the program.
Kamal Youssefi, President of the Hashgraph Association, expressed excitement about supporting educational initiatives like the DLT Africa Regional Developer Program, emphasizing the importance of empowering youth and fostering a digital future in Africa. Bendon Murgor, Chief Technology Officer of Adanian Labs, highlighted the program’s commitment to fostering smart technological innovation and talent development in Africa.
The program will culminate in a hackathon across the five countries, where participants will showcase their skills and compete for recognition, resources, and the chance to participate in an Entrepreneur Exchange Program in Switzerland. Jefferson Mkungusi, CEO of the Africa Blockchain Centre, emphasized the transformative power of blockchain technology in driving socio-economic development in Africa.
Applications for the DLT Africa Regional Capacity Building Program are now open to qualified students in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.
