Severe storms tore through Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio on Thursday, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Tornadoes were reported in multiple areas, with a half-mile-wide tornado striking northwestern Ohio.
In eastern Indiana, a trailer park in Winchester was hit by a suspected tornado, according to local officials. Meteorologists are working to confirm the touchdown. In Jefferson County, Indiana, extensive damage was reported, with multiple homes destroyed and trees and power lines down.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in Jefferson County, according to Sheriff Ben Flint. However, several homes and structures were destroyed, including recreational vehicles along a river.
In Ohio, a “very dangerous half mile wide tornado” caused damage to homes and structures. The National Weather Service in Cleveland warned of two tornadic rotations in Crawford County and northern Ashland County.
Officials in Ohio are still assessing the damage to a lakeside mobile home community near Lakeview. Tornadoes were also reported in Gallatin and Trimble Counties in Kentucky.
