Gina Gershon Praises Tom Cruise for Being a “Gentleman” During First Love Scene
Actress Gina Gershon recently shared some intimate details about filming her very first love scene with Tom Cruise in the 1988 film “Cocktail.” During an episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Gershon praised Cruise for being a “gentleman” and revealed how he was “protective” of her during the filming process.
Gershon explained that even though Cruise had just gotten married to Mimi Rogers at the time, they shared several kissing scenes in the film. She recounted a funny incident where she accidentally kneed Cruise in the nose during a scene, but he was understanding and took the blame for it.
“He was so overprotective over me. He was great,” Gershon said of Cruise’s behavior on set.
In contrast to Gershon’s positive experience with Cruise, actor Rob Lowe recently shared a story about getting knocked out by Cruise during a boxing match on the set of “The Outsiders.” Lowe described Cruise as “competitive” and recalled how Cruise’s punch completely knocked him out.
Despite the intense boxing match, Lowe and Cruise remained friends, and Lowe fondly remembers their time together on set.
Overall, Gershon’s story sheds light on Cruise’s professionalism and kindness on set, while Lowe’s anecdote highlights Cruise’s competitive nature. Both stories provide a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes experiences of working with the Hollywood star.
