Today’s cryptocurrency prices: Bitcoin falls below $50,000 following a new low, while Ether is down over 5%

Due to an increase in profit booking activities, cryptocurrency prices have fallen in the last 24 hours. As the broader crypto market remains volatile, aggressive selling is a potential over the next 24 hours.

Bitcoin, the world’s most popular cryptocurrency, dropped below $50,000 for the first time in three days. It was trading at $48,200, down 2.73 percent from its previous close of 12:10 p.m. The popular cryptocurrency’s market capitalization was $910 billion, with a daily transaction volume of $1.25 billion.

Ether, the Ethereum platform’s native coin, also dropped substantially, trading at $4,115, roughly 6% lower than its previous high. Ether’s market capitalization has dropped to $483 billion, with a $1.34 billion 24-hour transaction volume.

Due to an uptick in profit booking activity, smaller cryptocurrencies such as Solana, XRP, Terra, Cardano, Polkadot, Stellar, Dogecoin, Polygon, Chainlink, Uniswap, and Litecoin plummeted dramatically.

Edul Patel, CEO and Co-founder of Mudrex- A Global Algorithm Based Crypto Investment Platform, commented on the strong selling in the crypto market, predicting that the market would stay wobbly for the next 24 hours. He also cautioned investors to be wary.

Over the last 24 hours, we’ve seen profit booking throughout the cryptocurrency spectrum. Because the markets are a little fragile right now, investors should be cautious before making aggressive bets,” he warned.
“For BTC and ETH, the critical support levels are $46,000 and $4,000, respectively.”
