The manhunt for the suspect involved in a deadly shooting at a Chick-fil-A in Texas has come to an end as police have confirmed his arrest. Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta, 37, was taken into custody following the shooting that claimed the lives of two individuals inside the fast-food restaurant.
Authorities in Irving, Texas, had been searching for Mendoza Argueta after the shooting occurred at the Chick-fil-A on North MacArthur Boulevard. The incident, which police believe was a targeted attack and not a random act of violence, took place around 3:20 p.m.
Details about the motive behind the shooting and the identities of the victims have not been released by investigators. Television footage from the scene showed police presence at the restaurant, with screens placed in front of some windows and the parking lot blocked off.
Chick-fil-A has not yet provided a statement regarding the incident. The Irving Police Department is actively investigating the shooting that took place on June 26, 2024.
