Vintage Clothing Aficionados Gather for Rare Sale in New York City

The elite collectors and fashion enthusiasts gathered at the Sturbridge Show in New York City on Thursday evening for a rare vintage clothing sale that left attendees in awe. The event, curated by vintage expert David Brockman, brought together some of the most dedicated vintage hounds and fashion professionals in search of unique and inspiring pieces.

For 35 years, Mr. Brockman has been immersed in the world of vintage clothing, drawing inspiration from his early days of treasure hunting with his antique-collecting mother on a Missouri farm. His passion for vintage garments was evident as he excitedly pointed out standout pieces at the show, from old denim to 1920s and ’30s garments.

Among the attendees was actress Laverne Cox, who donned a KN95 mask and a navy Mugler blazer adorned with silver rings. Despite her exhaustion from a recent red carpet event, Ms. Cox couldn’t resist the allure of vintage Mugler pieces at the show, adding to her impressive collection that spans decades.

Fashion designer Anna Sui, known for her eclectic and vibrant designs, also made an appearance at the event, admiring Edwardian blouses and vintage baubles with her keen eye for detail. Ms. Sui, a seasoned vintage shopper, praised the Sturbridge Show as one of the best she’s ever attended.

Author and style icon Tziporah Salamon, a longtime vintage collector, was on the hunt for the perfect hat to add to her extensive collection. With a bright, patterned turban in hand, she lamented that it wouldn’t complement her current outfit, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that vintage enthusiasts bring to their fashion choices.

The Sturbridge Show continues through Saturday, offering a unique opportunity for vintage lovers to discover one-of-a-kind pieces and connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for the art of fashion through the ages.
