Spencer Matthews, known for his appearances on Made In Chelsea, has recently completed an incredible feat by running 30 marathons in 30 days in the scorching heat of the desert in Jordan. The Great Desert Challenge was not only a physical test for Matthews but also a deeply emotional journey as he dedicated his efforts to his late brother, Michael, who tragically passed away while descending Everest in 1999.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Matthews described the experience as “a humbling experience” and something he will always cherish. Running for Global’s Make Some Noise charity, he now holds the Guinness World Record for most marathon distances completed on sand in one month by a male.

Throughout the grueling challenge, Matthews lost 1.5 stone in weight and sweat out almost 5 liters a day due to the extreme temperatures reaching up to 44C. Despite the physical toll, he pushed through with the memory of his brother in mind, finding solace in the thought that Michael would be proud of his efforts.

At the finish line, Matthews was greeted by his wife Vogue and two of his three children, Theodore and Gigi, who provided him with unwavering support throughout the journey. Reflecting on the experience, Matthews expressed his gratitude to his family for standing by him and shared his excitement about spending quality time with them now that the challenge is over.

Matthews’s determination and resilience in completing this extraordinary challenge serve as an inspiration to many, showcasing the power of perseverance and the importance of honoring loved ones through meaningful actions.
