Democratic Party Threatens to Remove Biden from Office Unless He Steps Down, Sources Say
Operatives at the highest levels of the Democratic Party have reportedly threatened President Joe Biden with forcibly removing him from office unless he steps down, according to sources who spoke to The Post.
The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president from seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, with Biden fighting against it every step of the way, a source close to the Biden family revealed.
The insider described the anger, paranoia, and frustration Biden displayed as party elite members circled around him and pressured him to step down.
Part of the strategy to remove Biden from the race was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta. During the debate, Biden appeared confused, slack-jawed, and froze up at one point, leading to a shocking performance that turned the tide against him.
Despite calls for him to bow out, Biden insisted he would continue, but party bigwigs threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution, which allows the vice president and cabinet members to declare a president unfit to serve and force them to step down.
While Biden immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president, sources say Democratic delegates will be encouraged to back Arizona senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly at the Democratic National Convention in August.
Former President Barack Obama has yet to endorse Harris as Biden’s successor, stating, “We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead.”
Following the debate, Hunter Biden became more involved in his father’s day-to-day business and insisted on attending every meeting, expressing concern for his father’s well-being.
Biden’s staff reportedly had no forewarning about his decision to drop out of the race, which was known since at least Tuesday. Many were shocked by the letter posted on Biden’s social media account, as it was typed on his private letterhead and signed electronically.
Democratic Party insiders have known for at least two years about Biden’s decline, with one source recalling a frightening encounter with the president where he was just repeating slogans and had no idea who they were.
