Some iPhones are now receiving AI features

Apple has finally unveiled its highly anticipated artificial intelligence (AI) tools for iPhone users, but only to a select few. The Apple Intelligence suite, which was announced back in June, has now been made available to owners of some iPhones around the world.

The new features include notification summaries, tools to assist users in writing messages, and a revamped interface for virtual assistant Siri. However, these features are only accessible to those with the latest devices, such as the iPhone 16 models, and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Apple Intelligence is also compatible with Mac computers and iPad tablets powered by the company’s latest chips.

Apple CEO Tim Cook described the release of these AI tools as ushering in “a new era” for Apple products. The company also announced a bounty of up to $1 million for ethical hackers who can identify vulnerabilities in its AI software.

While Apple may be a bit late to the game, with Google and Samsung already incorporating AI features into their devices, the tech giant is making strides to catch up. More features are expected to be rolled out later this year, including the ability to generate images and emoji from text prompts.

It seems that Apple is taking its time to ensure that its AI tools are top-notch, with Cook stating that the company is “perfectly fine with not being first” and that it “takes a while to get it really great.” Despite the competition, Apple fans can look forward to more innovative AI features coming their way soon.
