Ripple and Archax Partner to Tokenize $300M in Real World Assets on XRPL
In a groundbreaking move for the blockchain industry, Ripple and Archax have announced a partnership to tokenize $300 million worth of Real World Assets (RWAs) on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This collaboration will not only enhance the accessibility and liquidity of RWAs but also establish the XRPL as a premier blockchain for tokenization by mid-2025.
Archax, the UK’s first Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)-regulated digital asset exchange, has been leading the charge in integrating traditional financial assets with blockchain technology. By extending their partnership with Ripple, financial institutions will now be able to leverage the XRPL for tokenizing RWAs, unlocking a wide range of use cases for these assets.
Markus Infanger, SVP of RippleX, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that the industry is on the cusp of a major adoption stage where blockchain technology will deliver real utility in financial markets at scale. He emphasized Ripple’s commitment to driving blockchain and digital asset adoption among financial institutions, with a focus on RWA tokenization.
Graham Rodford, CEO of Archax, highlighted the growing recognition of blockchain’s real-world utility, noting that the mainstream adoption of digital assets for real-world use cases has reached a tipping point. He pointed out the operational efficiency, market liquidity, and transparency benefits of crypto assets, which are now being embraced by financial institutions.
The XRPL’s decentralized exchange and compliance features make it well-suited for institutional-grade financial use cases. With over 1,000 projects supported, 2.8 billion transactions processed without failure or security breaches since 2012, and over 5 million active wallets, the XRPL has proven its reliability and scalability in the blockchain space.
The announcement of the expanded partnership was made at the XRP Ledger APEX 2024, the largest annual XRPL summit, held in Amsterdam from June 11-13. This partnership marks a significant step forward in the tokenization of real-world assets on the XRPL, solidifying its position as a leading blockchain for RWA tokenization.
