One of the major achievements highlighted was the impressive 85% network participation rate of Pectra Devnet 2. Developer Operations Engineer Barnabas Busa shared this positive development, while Ethereum Foundation Researcher Hsiao Wei Wang announced the upcoming alpha.4 release of the Pectra consensus layer specifications to address bugs in EL clients. However, challenges persist with EthereumJS and Erigon clients facing technical difficulties.
Developers also emphasized the need for enhanced coordination for future development, addressing communication lapses and initiating weekly meetings to discuss testing updates. Devnet 3 is expected to have a similar setup to Devnet 2, with potential changes affecting the revised EIP 7702 design.
Issues with EIP 7251 on Devnet 2 were raised by Gajinder Singh from Lodestar, with ongoing efforts to address and validate them in the upcoming devnet. Discussions also covered transitioning to the new yamux multiplexer and the inclusion of EIP 7688 in the Pectra upgrade.
As the meeting concluded, Prysm developer “Potuz” emphasized the importance of timely reviews for proposed changes to the execution payload structure to ensure updates to consensus layer specifications.
