Scottie Scheffler received overwhelming support both on and off the golf course after returning from jail to shoot a 66 in the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Course. Among those showing their love for Scheffler was golf influencer Grace Charis, who posted a photo of herself wearing a crop top shirt with Scheffler’s mugshot across her chest, along with the hashtag “#FREESCOTTIE.”
Charis, who has millions of followers on Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms, expressed her support for Scheffler as he made a strong showing in the tournament, finishing just three shots off the lead after the second round.
Scheffler himself described the round as one of the best of his career, despite the unexpected circumstances leading up to it. He faces charges including second-degree assault of a police officer, criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding signals from an officer directing traffic, which he attributed to a “big misunderstanding.”
The golf world continues to rally around Scheffler as he competes in the PGA Championship, with fans and fellow players showing their support for the talented golfer. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
