PinkPantheress, the breakout star known for hits like Boy’s A Liar and Just For Me, has made the difficult decision to cancel all of her upcoming tour dates. The 23-year-old musician cited the need to focus on her physical health and overall wellbeing as the reason for the sudden change in plans.
PinkPantheress had been on tour with Olivia Rodrigo in the US and was set to co-headline the Field Day festival in London later this month. However, in a series of Instagram posts, she explained that she had hit a wall and was struggling to push through.
The singer expressed her gratitude to her fans, touring team, and Olivia Rodrigo for the opportunity to perform, but ultimately had to prioritize her health. She expressed sadness at disappointing her fans but hoped to return to the stage once she was feeling better.
PinkPantheress had a rapid rise to fame during the pandemic, gaining popularity on TikTok before revealing her identity. She won the BBC’s Sound Of 2022 poll and achieved chart success with collaborations like Boy’s A Liar Pt 2.
In addition to cancelling her upcoming tour dates, PinkPantheress has also called off an entire tour of Australia and New Zealand, including supporting Coldplay on eight dates. Fans will have to wait for her return to health before they can see her perform live again.
In a separate announcement, rock band Garbage also cancelled their future shows due to lead singer Shirley Manson sustaining an injury during their European tour. Manson will require surgery and rehabilitation to recover, leading to the band pulling out of several high-profile festival appearances in the US.
The music industry will surely miss the presence of both PinkPantheress and Garbage on stage, but their health and wellbeing must come first. Fans can only hope for a speedy recovery for both artists so they can return to doing what they love.
