Designers brought a bit of theater to New York Bridal Fashion Week, which was held April 2-4 and showcased their spring and summer 2025 collections. From interactive collaborations to marriage proposals, the event was full of surprises and innovative designs.
Justin Alexander kicked things off with a unique collaboration with street artist Gioele Corradengo, known as Sexsdreams. Attendees at the show had the opportunity to spray-paint a wedding dress, creating their own work of art. Cinq also made a statement with a candlelit dinner-style presentation that was part Shakespearean drama, part Hitchcock film.
One of the most memorable moments of the week was a marriage proposal during Galia Lahav’s presentation, adding a touch of romance to the event. Additionally, there were several bridal brand debuts, including designers Alejandra Alonso Rojas, Courte Collection, and Nordeen, as well as the return of Odylyne the Ceremony to Bridal Fashion Week after a brief absence. Claire Pettibone also unveiled her much-awaited East Coast flagship boutique in Midtown Manhattan.
On the runways, designers showcased nontraditional and versatile looks, incorporating elements like dropped waists, mixed fabrics, basque waists, trompe l’oeil bra necklines, elongated corsets, and ruched tulle. These trends offer brides a range of options to express their individual style on their special day.
Overall, New York Bridal Fashion Week was a celebration of creativity and innovation in the world of bridal fashion, setting the stage for the trends that will define the spring and summer 2025 wedding season.
