Oklahoma Teens Return Home After Nightmare in Cancun
The family and friends of Oklahoma State University students are sharing details of a harrowing event that unfolded during a vacation in Cancun. Two students, Zara Hull and Kaylie Pitze, were allegedly drugged after ordering water from a poolside bar at a resort in Cancun.
Disturbing photos shared by Hull and her family show the moment the girls became unconscious after drinking the tainted water on August 1. Hull’s mother received a call from Jake, who was with the girls, informing her that Hull was completely incoherent and unconscious.
Jake took both girls back to their room, but Hull was transported to a local hospital after experiencing severe symptoms. The nightmare continued as Jake was not allowed to stay with Hull at the hospital and had to pay for a room on a vacant floor that did not lock from the inside.
The situation escalated when Hull was put on a ventilator and Jake suspected that she was being taken to another location for unknown procedures. Hull’s family was able to negotiate with the U.S. Embassy to have her flown to Dallas for further medical treatment.
After nearly 27 hours and spending thousands of dollars, Hull was released from the hospital and returned home to Oklahoma with Jake. The name of the resort and hospital are not being released at this time due to legal and privacy issues.
The incident serves as a warning for travelers to be cautious when visiting resorts outside the country, as similar situations could happen to anyone. The families involved are still haunted by the ordeal and hope to raise awareness about the dangers of traveling abroad.
