Oasis Slams Ticketmaster’s “Dynamic Pricing” as Fans Pay Exorbitant Prices for Tickets

Legendary rock band Oasis has found themselves at the center of a ticketing controversy after fans were left outraged by Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing” strategy, which saw ticket prices soar to as much as £350 per ticket for their upcoming shows. This is around £200 more than what had initially been advertised, leaving many fans feeling cheated and disappointed.

In a statement issued to PA Media, Oasis made it clear that they had no involvement in the decision-making process regarding ticketing and pricing, leaving it entirely to their promoters and management. The band expressed their surprise and disapproval of the use of dynamic pricing, stating that they had no prior knowledge of this strategy being implemented for the initial ticket sales.

Despite the chaos surrounding the initial ticket sale, Oasis has announced two additional live shows at Wembley Stadium on 27 and 28 September 2025. To ensure a fair and transparent ticketing process, the band has opted for a “staggered, invitation-only ballot process” for these new dates, open exclusively to those who were unsuccessful in the initial Ticketmaster sale.

The band acknowledged the shortcomings of the initial ticket sale, attributing the issues to the unprecedented demand and the failure to meet fan expectations. Many fans faced website glitches and exorbitant prices, with standard ticket prices more than doubling due to dynamic pricing.

The controversy has not gone unnoticed, with the European Commission launching an investigation into dynamic pricing following the uproar. Additionally, the Advertising Standards Authority received numerous complaints about Ticketmaster’s adverts for the Oasis gigs, citing misleading claims about availability and pricing.

Despite the challenges, Oasis fans can look forward to a series of concerts at Wembley, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Dublin, marking the band’s highly anticipated return to the stage after their breakup in 2009. As the band navigates through this ticketing debacle, their loyal fan base remains hopeful for a fair and enjoyable concert experience.
