Country music star Nate Smith took a hard tumble mid-song while opening for Morgan Wallen in Las Vegas. The 38-year-old singer shared a video of the moment with his fans on Instagram, showing the moment he crashed to the ground while singing “World on Fire.”
Smith, who was walking between the stage and the front row of the crowd, went down arms-length distance from the fans. It’s unclear if he slipped or tripped as he performed, but he handled the fall like a pro and carried on like nothing happened.
Fans and friends showed their support on Smith’s social media post, with fellow country star Ernest writing, “These things happen.” One fan commented, “Most graceful fall I’ve seen. Then carried on like no big deal.”
Smith was opening for Wallen’s “One Night at a Time” tour stop at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Aug. 9. Wallen’s U.S. leg of the tour has ended, and he is set to head to Europe for a series of shows before returning to the U.S. for rescheduled performances.
After the final night of Wallen’s tour, Smith expressed his gratitude on social media, thanking Wallen for the opportunity and acknowledging his band, crew, family, and fans for their support.
Smith will headline his own tour, “Through the Smoke,” beginning next month in Portland, Oregon and continuing through December. Fans can expect to see him perform live and bounce back from his onstage tumble with grace and style.
