Margot Robbie’s production company Lucky Chap is set to bring another beloved game to the big screen, as they are linked with a planned Monopoly movie. This news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that a movie based on the hit videogame series The Sims is also in the works.
The Sims, a popular life simulator game that first launched in 2000, has been a fan favorite for over 20 years. Gaming giant Electronic Arts (EA) has confirmed that they are working with Amazon MGM Studios on the film adaptation, with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap and Loki director Kate Herron also on board.
British author and comedian Briony Redman will co-write the film, bringing her expertise to the project. EA has promised updates on the film next year, in time for The Sims’ 25th anniversary.

Margot Robbie, who starred in the successful Barbie movie, expressed her excitement for the project, stating that she wants to create more films that have a similar impact. LuckyChap’s previous collaboration with Amazon on Saltburn was a massive success, further solidifying their reputation in the industry.
