Inmate Joshua Nigel Thomas Sanders was apprehended early Friday morning in Houston, Texas, after a dramatic escape during transport from a court appearance. Sanders, 35, was found at a relative’s home and resisted arrest, leading to the use of a taser by responding officers. Two others were also arrested for hindering apprehension.

Sanders, who was in custody for multiple burglaries and unlawful possession of a weapon, allegedly accosted a woman and attempted to flee in her car before crashing it and escaping on foot. He is now facing additional charges of aggravated robbery and escape.

The University of Houston Downtown issued a lockdown during the manhunt, but later gave the all-clear. Authorities warned that Sanders should be considered armed and dangerous.

The investigation into how Sanders escaped is ongoing, and he is currently receiving medical treatment before being returned to the Harris County Jail. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
