Stock Market Today Live Updates: Nifty 50 and Sensex movements, top gainers and losers

As the trading day kicks off, investors are keeping a close eye on the Nifty 50 and Sensex movements. The trends on Gift Nifty indicate a negative start for the Indian benchmark index, with the Gift Nifty trading around 22,660 level, a discount of nearly 70 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

In the global markets, Asian markets traded lower, while US stocks ended in the red overnight. This was attributed to higher Treasury yields and concerns over the timing and scale of possible interest rate cuts from the US Federal Reserve.

In the IPO news segment, the biggest IPOs on US exchanges this year have come from non-US firms. The decision on where to list these IPOs depends on ‘higher prices for stock’, according to Nasdaq chief economist Phil Mackintosh. The US market valuation stands at an average of 20.6 times forward price-to-earnings, higher than Europe and Asia-Pacific excluding Japan.

For investors looking for stock recommendations, Vaishali Parekh has recommended three stocks to buy today – NHPC, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and Ambuja Cements.

In other news, Awfis Space Solutions IPO is set to debut today, with experts signaling a strong debut of shares. The grey market is indicating that the IPO listing price would be around ₹510.

On the F&O ban list for May 30, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, GMR Airports Infrastructure, Hindustan Copper, and Vodafone Idea are among the four stocks listed.

Lastly, GPT Infraprojects and LT Foods shares will trade ex-dividend today. GPT Infraprojects declared an interim dividend of ₹1.00 per equity share, while LT Foods declared an interim dividend of ₹0.50 per equity share.
