Reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian Barker recently shared her emotional journey to motherhood, revealing that she underwent five failed cycles of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and three retrievals before conceiving her son, Rocky, naturally in December.

In response to questions from fans on Instagram, Kardashian opened up about the challenges she faced during her fertility journey. She shared that after a year of trying with multiple failed IVF cycles, she decided to stop and focus on her health and faith in God’s plan for her life.

The 45-year-old star and her husband, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, welcomed their first child together, Rocky, in November. Kardashian also shared that she fell pregnant naturally on Valentine’s Day in 2023, one year after stopping IVF treatment.

During her pregnancy, Kardashian revealed that she underwent “urgent foetal surgery,” which she described as a “terrifying” experience. She expressed gratitude towards the doctors who saved her baby’s life and shared that her husband immediately flew back from the UK and Ireland to be by her side.

The couple, who announced their legal marriage in April 2022, have a blended family with three children each from previous relationships. Kardashian’s journey to motherhood sheds light on the challenges many couples face when trying to conceive and the emotional toll it can take.

IVF, a process that involves retrieving a woman’s eggs and fertilising them with sperm in a lab before transferring the embryo into the uterus, offers hope to couples struggling with infertility. However, success is not guaranteed, and it often takes multiple attempts to achieve a successful pregnancy.

Kardashian’s story serves as a reminder of the power of perseverance, faith, and the importance of prioritizing one’s health during the journey to parenthood.
