“Game of Thrones” Star Joseph Gatt Sues Los Angeles District Attorney for $40 Million After False Arrest
Joseph Gatt, known for his role in “Game of Thrones,” is taking legal action against Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón and others for $40 million. The 52-year-old actor was arrested in April 2022 on charges of having online sexually explicit communication with a minor across state lines. However, the charges were dismissed in February, and Gatt is now seeking justice for the damage done to his career and reputation.
In a lawsuit filed in federal court, Gatt claims that a botched criminal investigation based on the uncorroborated word of a teenage fan led to his wrongful arrest and prosecution. The documents obtained by Fox News Digital reveal that Gatt was publicly branded as a serial pedophile, causing irreparable harm to his professional and personal life.
The lawsuit names Gascón, L.A. County, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Angela Brunson, LAPD Detective Denos Amarantos, and the City of Los Angeles as defendants. Gatt alleges that he was subjected to threats, intimidation, and coercion without probable cause, resulting in his unlawful arrest, detention, and malicious prosecution.
According to the lawsuit, the charges against Gatt stemmed from fabricated evidence created by a teenage fan, referred to as “Jane Doe,” whom he had never met. The documents detail how the defendants failed to properly investigate the case, leading to Gatt’s arrest based on fake social media conversations and biased motives.
The lawsuit also highlights the personal animosity between Deputy District Attorney Brunson and Gatt, citing their differing political beliefs and interactions within the high-performance sports car community in L.A. Gatt claims that Brunson ignored red flags in the evidence against him and sought to destroy his career based on bias.
Since his arrest, Gatt has suffered significant professional and personal losses, including being dropped by his agent and PR representatives, losing acting opportunities, and receiving death threats. The lawsuit seeks to recover the damages Gatt has incurred as a result of the defendants’ violations of his constitutional rights.
Representatives for the L.A. District Attorney’s Office and the LAPD have not yet responded to requests for comment. Gatt’s attorney, Dean Z. Pamphilis, stated that the arrest and charges against his client were based on fabricated evidence and resulted in the destruction of his career and reputation.
As Gatt fights for justice in court, he hopes to reclaim his lost opportunities and restore his tarnished reputation in the entertainment industry. The actor, known for his roles in “Game of Thrones” and “Banshee,” remains determined to seek accountability for the wrongful actions taken against him.
