Joey Lawrence, known for his roles in “Blossom” and “Melissa and Joey,” is making headlines for his alleged extramarital affair with his co-star, Melina Alves. Lawrence’s wife, Samantha Cope, filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences just over a week before news of the affair surfaced.
According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Cope filed for divorce on Aug. 13, two months after their separation in June 2024. The couple had been married for two years before the split.
Reports suggest that Lawrence and Alves got romantically involved while working on the film “Socked in for Christmas.” Despite Cope’s attempts to salvage the marriage through counseling, Lawrence allegedly continued to see Alves, leading to the breakdown of their relationship.
Cope is seeking full physical custody of their one-year-old daughter, Dylan, in the divorce filing, while Lawrence would have visitation rights at her discretion.
