Jewish organizations express strong support for Israel’s right to defend against Iran’s attacks
Jewish organizations have come out in full support of Israel’s right and obligation to defend themselves against the recent onslaught of missile and drone attacks from Iran. The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Morton A. Klein stated that the nonprofit organization stands firmly behind Israel in their efforts to protect themselves from the extremist, Jew-hating, America-hating Islamic Republic of Iran.
Klein emphasized the need for Israel to take decisive action against Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities, urging President Biden to provide any necessary support to Israel. He also called for the reinstatement of sanctions against Iran and an end to the policy of providing funds to the country.
Similarly, the Israeli-American Council (IAC) expressed their unwavering support for Israel’s right to defend themselves against Iran and its proxies. They thanked President Biden for his statement of support and called for continued bipartisan support from Congress.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles (JFEDLA) President & CEO Rabbi Noah Farkas highlighted the constant threat faced by the people of Israel and reaffirmed the organization’s solidarity with the country. New York City Mayor Eric Adams also voiced his support for Israel, stating that the city stands with the State of Israel in the face of the recent attacks.
While there is no direct threat to New York City at this time, Mayor Adams assured that additional resources have been deployed to Jewish communities and worship centers as a precautionary measure. The NYPD will continue to monitor the situation closely.
The recent attack by Iran on Israel marks a significant escalation in hostilities between the two countries. It is the first time Iran has launched a full-scale assault on Israel, despite decades of tension. The Jewish community, both in the U.S. and abroad, remains united in their support for Israel and their commitment to peace and security in the region.
