The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) were on high alert Sunday after locating “numerous suspicious aerial targets” crossing from Lebanon. The IDF launched multiple interceptors to knock down the targets, which resulted in a fall adjacent to the kibbutz Ayelet HaShahar. Sirens were heard in the upper Galilee region, leading to a moderate injury of an IDF officer and soldier who were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Israel Fire Services are currently working to extinguish a fire that was ignited in the area during the attack. IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated that troops are deployed in various areas, including Gaza, Lebanon, Judea, and Samaria, to thwart threats against Israel.
In Gaza, the IDF is focusing on locating and neutralizing underground infrastructure, with dozens of tunnels already located and being investigated, neutralized, and destroyed by troops. Additionally, a stabbing attack in Holon resulted in two Israeli citizens being killed and two others wounded, with the terrorist neutralized at the scene by a police officer.
The IDF and Israeli Securities Authority also responded to an alert about a terrorist cell in the Tulkarm area in the West Bank, eliminating five terrorists who were on their way to carry out an attack. Large numbers of firearms, ammunition, and military vests were found in the area, with Hagari noting that many of these weapons come from Iran.
Hagari emphasized the IDF’s commitment to combating Iranian terrorism and bringing home the hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in significant casualties, with more than 39,000 Palestinians killed and over 90,000 wounded, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
The IDF continues to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing security threats to Israel, both domestically and abroad.
