“I’m glad he apologized,” Saina Nehwal said of Siddharth’s “rude joke.”
"Siddharth has apologised, but you should not have targeted a woman in that manner. It's OK; I'm not disturbed by it; I'm content in my current location. God bless him ", stated Nehwal.

Saina Nehwal, an Indian shuttler, said on Wednesday that she was unconcerned by actor Siddharth’s disparaging statements about her, adding that a woman should not be singled out in this way.
Nehwal, who is in the second round of the India Open 2022, told news agency ANI that she is relieved that Siddharth has apologized.
“Siddharth, while I appreciate your apologies, you should not have targeted a woman in that manner. It’s OK; I’m not worried by it; I’m content in my current location; God bless him, “said the Indian shuttler.

Siddharth said “Dear Saina, I’d want to apologize for the crude joke I made in response to one of your tweets a few days ago. “I may disagree with you on many issues, but even my disappointment or fury when I read your tweet cannot excuse my tone and words,” Siddharth wrote late Tuesday.
On January 6, Siddharth reacted to Nehwal’s tweet, which expressed alarm over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security lapse during his visit to poll-bound Punjab on January 5.
For his “sexist” comment against Nehwal, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has asked Twitter to deactivate his account.
Activists condemned Siddharth for making sexist and abusive remarks against Nehwal and demanded an apology.
Kiren Rijiju, the Union Law Minister, stated on Monday that making a cheap remark against Nehwal exposes the person’s ignoble attitude.
In the wake of the considerable outcry, Siddharth clarified on Monday that he did not aim to offend anybody and that his subtle cock tweet included no connotation.
“There’s a difference between a cock and a bull.” That’s the allusion. It is unjust and misleading to read differently. Nothing was stated or implied that was disrespectful. On Monday, he tweeted, “Period.”
