Authorities in Texas made a shocking discovery during a routine traffic stop in Fayette County – drugs hidden inside plush toys of the beloved Buc-ee’s beaver mascot.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reported that a deputy found marijuana and ecstasy concealed inside Buc-ee’s plush toys during the early hours of July 31. The driver of the vehicle gave consent for the deputy to search the car, where the drugs were found in the rear seat.
Upon further inspection, the deputy noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and discovered that the Buc-ee’s plushies had been tampered with. The stuffed beavers were found to contain packages of marijuana and ecstasy, with the marijuana weighing over two pounds.
In Texas, possession of a certain amount of marijuana is considered a felony, punishable by imprisonment and hefty fines. The driver, identified as Lugene Davis Jr., claimed to be experiencing chest pain after the discovery of the drugs. EMS was called to the scene and Davis was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The seized drugs and the warrant issued for Davis highlight the severity of the situation. This bizarre incident serves as a reminder that illegal activities can take unexpected forms, even hiding inside innocent-looking toys.
