Ms. Grace, an 80-year-old retired professor from Brooklyn, and Mr. Kaiser, a 79-year-old widower from Germany, were both dining alone when fate intervened. After Ms. Grace felt unsteady and Mr. Kaiser invited her to sit at his table, a beautiful connection blossomed between the two strangers.
