The FBI recently conducted a raid on the Long Island home of Linda Sun, a former aide to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. Federal agents searched the $3.5 million residence in a gated community on the North Shore of Long Island, but the reason for the raid remains unclear.
Despite the raid, neither Sun nor her husband, Chris Hu, have been accused of any wrongdoing, and no arrests were made. However, the fact that a judge had to approve the search warrant indicates that there may be some suspicion of misconduct.
Sun, who previously worked as a deputy chief of staff for Gov. Hochul and under former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, focused on business development, Asian American affairs, and diversity, equity, and inclusion during her time in public service. She left her executive chamber role after 15 months and took a job with the New York State Department of Labor in 2022.
Sun’s husband operates a liquor store in Queens, where at least one bottle of wine was reported to retail for $700. Efforts to reach the couple for comment were unsuccessful.
The FBI raid on Sun’s home has raised questions and speculation, but details remain scarce. The investigation is ongoing, and Gov. Hochul’s office has not yet commented on the matter.
