A Florida woman, Julie Ann Sulpizio, has been arrested in connection with a tragic ambush attack that resulted in the death of one deputy and the injury of two others. The incident, described as an “ambush” by Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell, unfolded on Friday night in a disturbing series of events.

Sulpizio, 48, faces serious charges including first-degree premeditated murder of a law enforcement officer, attempted murder, and battery on a law enforcement officer. The attack claimed the life of Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Michael Link, 28, while Master Deputy Sheriff Harold Howell, 41, and Deputy First Class Stefano Gargano, 28, were injured.

The deputies responded to a disturbance call at a home before being directed to another location near Eustis. Upon entering the home, they were met with gunfire, leading to the tragic outcome. Grinnell detailed the events leading up to the shooting, including Sulpizio’s erratic behavior and disturbing religious comments accusing residents of being sinners.

Further investigation revealed a chilling plan by Sulpizio to lure her neighbors to her home for her husband to kill them. Fortunately, the deputies intervened before this plan could be carried out. The incident also uncovered a disturbing scene at Sulpizio’s home, where her husband and daughters were found dead with gunshot wounds.

The sheriff described a stockpile of weapons, ammunition, and conspiracy theory-related material found at the home, shedding light on the disturbing mindset behind the attack. Sulpizio, who showed no remorse, was under observation in the hospital before her arrest.

The tragic events have left the community in shock and mourning the loss of Deputy Link. The investigation into the motive behind the attack continues as authorities work to bring justice for the fallen deputy and his injured colleagues.
