The late Dr. Michael Mosley, known for popularizing the 5:2 diet through intermittent fasting, has been posthumously honored with induction into the British Podcast Awards’ Hall of Fame for his podcast “Just One Thing.” The podcast, which began in 2021, shared simple yet scientifically proven tips to improve health and change lives.
Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley, in one of her first public appearances since her husband’s passing, accepted the award on his behalf. She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love following his death from natural causes while walking on the Greek island of Symi in June.
The British Podcast Awards ceremony in London also saw the BBC scoop up 12 awards, including Best True Crime and Best Documentary for Jordan Dunbar’s “Blood on the Dancefloor,” which tells the untold story of the murder of a gay police officer in Northern Ireland during the Troubles.
Other notable winners included Marianna Spring for Best Host, Legend: The Joni Mitchell Story for Best Arts and Culture podcast, and George the Poet’s “Have You Heard George’s Podcast” for Best Factual category.
Fan-favorite podcast “Help I Sexted My Boss,” hosted by Jordan North and William Hanson, won the Listeners’ Choice Award and made history by becoming the first UK podcast to be streamed live in cinemas.
Audible’s “Press Play, Turn On” took home Podcast of the Year, while Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell’s “The Rest Is Politics” was crowned Podcast Champion for its significant impact on the podcasting landscape.
