Democratic officials express concerns over President Biden’s behavior at Juneteenth event

Texas State Rep. Ron Reynolds described the incident as “different” and said Biden seemed “altered” during the event.
Reynolds and other attendees at the Juneteenth concert expressed concerns about Biden’s behavior, with some noting that his performance at the presidential debate only confirmed their worries. Alabama State Rep. Juandalynn Givan also admitted to being “absolutely” concerned about Biden after attending multiple events with him.
A former Obama official, speaking anonymously, said that Biden’s speech at the Juneteenth event was “concerning” and raised questions about his well-being. The official mentioned Biden’s low energy, garbled words, and difficulty speaking clearly as reasons for concern.
Despite calls from more than a dozen House Democrats for Biden to step down as the Democratic nominee, Biden has insisted on staying in the race. The White House has not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter.
