Delhi’s Omicron cases are asymptomatic: hospital

The four cases reported in Delhi of the Omicron variant in Covid-19 are asymptomatic according to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP), where these patients are admitted. The hospital ‘s MD Dr Suresh Kumar, informed ANI News agency that the  two of the four patients with the virus are from United Kingdom and the the other two were close contacts of them.

The statement was reported a day after the 4 cases were reported in the National Capital, leading to the totally tally of cases to six.

The LNJP hospital where all the patients are being treated provided the information of all the cases. According to Dr Kumar, one of the six patients discharged earlier in the day had come from Zimbabwe on December 2 and reported mild symptoms like slight throat discomfort and weakness. “But he returned completely healthy after 10 days,” he noted. “Omicron patients have mild symptoms, stable oxygen rates, and no need for the ICU.”

The hospital also mentioned that it has 50 covid beds seeing the situation of the new variant. Two to three people who are positive for Covid-19 out of total of 38 cases are most likely to be discharged with Wednesday.
