Conservatives on social media are up in arms after NBC News dropped former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel as an analyst after just four days. The move came after widespread criticism from liberals and pressure from NBC staff.
NBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Conde confirmed the news in a memo obtained by Fox News Digital, stating, “There is no doubt that the last several days have been difficult for the News Group. After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor.”
McDaniel’s hiring as an on-air analyst last week was met with scorn from liberals, and the situation escalated when NBC’s Chuck Todd criticized network executives on “Meet the Press” for bringing her on board.
Prominent MSNBC hosts, including Maddow, Bzrezinski, Psaki, and Reid, spoke out against McDaniel’s hiring, leading to an open staff revolt that ultimately led to her dismissal.
Conservatives on social media slammed NBC for caving to left-wing pressure and silencing non-liberal voices on its programming. Senator Tom Cotton, former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and former Wisconsin governor Scott Walker were among those who criticized the network’s decision.
Despite the backlash, some also criticized McDaniel for her tenure as RNC chair, which saw poor election results for the party.
The swift dismissal of McDaniel sparked further outrage among conservatives, with some speculating about her future prospects in lobbying or political consulting.
Billionaire Elon Musk even weighed in, accusing NBC of bias for not allowing even one Republican voice on their team.
MSNBC hosts who led the pressure campaign against McDaniel celebrated their victory, praising NBC for listening to their demands.
The controversy surrounding McDaniel’s brief tenure at NBC has reignited debates about media bias and the role of conservatives in mainstream news outlets.
