Coldplay fans express frustration over ticket scalping of Hull and Wembley shows

Fans of Coldplay were left devastated after struggling to secure tickets for the band’s upcoming concerts in Hull and London. General sale tickets sold out in under 40 minutes, leaving many fans unable to attend the highly anticipated shows.

Beth Francis, one fan from Grimsby, expressed her disappointment, saying she had been “in tears all morning” at not being able to see the band perform. Ticket touts quickly took advantage of the situation, reselling tickets for exorbitant prices on various websites.

Despite some fans managing to secure tickets through postcode pre-sales, others like Emma Parkinson were left disappointed as they were unable to get tickets for their families. The frustration was further compounded by the resale of tickets at inflated prices.

Calls for stricter rules on ticket sales and reselling were made by fans who were left empty-handed. Adam Webb, campaign manager for FanFair Alliance, emphasized the need for government intervention to protect fans from ticket touting.

With Coldplay set to play 12 concerts across Hull and London next year, fans are hopeful that measures will be put in place to prevent a similar situation from happening again. The band’s only European dates are highly anticipated, and fans are eager to secure their spots at the concerts.
