Tens of thousands of music fans enjoyed the final day of Scotland’s biggest music festival, TRNSMT, at Glasgow Green. The three-day event concluded on Sunday night with a set from chart-topping DJ Calvin Harris, leaving attendees buzzing with excitement.
Despite the electrifying performances, festival-goers were warned to plan their travel home in advance due to ScotRail’s reduced timetable, which meant many services from Glasgow stopped running at about 21:00. This logistical challenge did not dampen the spirits of the crowd, who were treated to a lineup that included Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon, Rejjie Snow, CMAT, and indie band Blossoms.
One of the standout moments of the day was when Blossoms introduced a new song inspired by a missing fibreglass gorilla from a Lanarkshire garden center. The band’s lively performance, complete with a replica of the ape as an onstage prop, delighted the audience and added a quirky touch to the festival.
However, the final day of TRNSMT also faced competition from the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain. The clash led to some scheduling conflicts for acts like rock band Enter Shikari, who jokingly threatened to pull out if the game did not go into extra time.
Despite the distractions, the festival continued to deliver top-notch performances from acts like Chase & Status, Alison Goldfrapp, and Sprints, keeping the energy high until the very end. With around 50,000 people attending each day of the event, TRNSMT once again proved to be a highlight on Scotland’s music festival calendar.
