Title: Couple Transforms Brooklyn Townhouse with Vibrant Colors Despite Budget Challenges

Giovanni Botta and Amanda Pinegar embarked on a colorful renovation journey when they purchased a townhouse in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. The couple had a clear vision from the start – their kitchen had to be pink.

With a budget of about $400,000, the couple enlisted the help of architect Luki Anderson to bring their dream to life. Anderson shared their enthusiasm for creative use of color and together they transformed the townhouse into an airy single-family home.

The renovation included a living room, an expanded kitchen and dining area, a library, a primary suite, three additional bedrooms, and more. The couple incorporated vibrant ceramic tiles by Nathalie Du Pasquier for Mutina and consulted with Farrow & Ball’s color curator for the perfect color scheme.

However, as the project progressed, challenges arose. Inflation pushed up costs, and termite damage required additional repairs. Despite setbacks, the couple remained committed to their vision and focused on completing the parlor level.

The total cost of the renovation eventually rose to $538,000, but Botta and Pinegar are thrilled with the result. They were able to achieve most of their goals and create a colorful, vibrant space that reflects their unique style.

While they had to postpone some plans for the top floor, the couple has no regrets. “We really wanted those things,” Pinegar said. The renovated townhouse now stands as a testament to their creativity and determination to create a home that truly reflects who they are.
