President Biden’s campaign is gearing up for a daylong retreat in New York City for his top financiers and fund-raisers, following a successful fund-raiser with former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

The gathering, which includes 175 of Mr. Biden’s biggest supporters, will feature briefings from his top political advisers, including campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez and former White House advisers Jennifer O’Malley Dillon and Mike Donilon. The event, held at the InterContinental New York Barclay hotel, is a testament to the president’s strong financial backing from both grassroots contributors and major donors.

To qualify as a member of Mr. Biden’s national finance team, donors are required to write a check for at least $47,900. However, those who raise significant amounts are given special titles such as “presidential partner” or “principal shareholder.”

The retreat will also include presentations from deputy campaign managers Quentin Fulks and Rob Flaherty, as well as battleground states director Dan Kanninen and deputy director Lauren Brainerd. A polling and messaging presentation, as well as a finance presentation, are also on the agenda.

The timing of the retreat is crucial, as it falls on one of the last days of the first quarter of 2024, a key fund-raising deadline for the Biden campaign. The campaign is hoping to maintain its financial advantage over former President Donald J. Trump, with $155 million in cash on hand combined with the party, compared to the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee’s $44.8 million.

Already this month, the joint Obama-Clinton event is expected to raise more than $25 million for the Biden campaign. While it has not been confirmed whether President Biden will address the donors at the retreat, he did speak at the last gathering of the national finance committee when he first entered the race in April 2023.
