Movement Labs Unveils “Battle of Olympus” Hackathon to Shape Future of Modular Network

Movement Labs has announced the launch of the highly anticipated “Battle of Olympus” hackathon, set to kick off on July 17, 2024. This two-month event marks a significant milestone in Movement Labs’ Testnet phase, offering developers a unique platform to influence the direction of the modular network of Move-based blockchains known as Movement.

The hackathon serves as the starting point for the “Road to Parthenon” initiative, which aims to create a thriving ecosystem around Movement Labs’ upcoming mainnet. With the support of 280 Capital and a group of industry partners, the event promises a mix of competition and collaboration, providing an ideal environment for innovation.

Participants will have the opportunity to join one of five specialized guilds, with the “Masons” guild focusing on the development of cutting-edge decentralized applications (dApps) in areas such as decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, social tools, infrastructure, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Teams of up to four individuals can compete either virtually from anywhere in the world or in person in San Francisco. Movement Labs is committed to offering comprehensive support and resources to help participants succeed and innovate throughout the hackathon.

A panel of esteemed judges will evaluate the entries based on criteria such as concept originality, technical expertise, and potential market impact. Winners can look forward to attractive rewards, underscoring the hackathon’s role as a catalyst for market-ready blockchain solutions.

In addition to developers, Movement Labs is inviting enthusiasts to participate through four additional guilds: Pathfinders, Creators, Explorers, and Scholars. These guilds will focus on various aspects of community engagement, content creation, ecosystem analysis, and educational initiatives related to the Movement ecosystem.

Cooper Scanlon, Co-Founder of Movement Labs, expressed excitement about the opportunities the Battle of Olympus offers to the community. Whether individuals are developers or enthusiasts, Movement Labs is providing the necessary tools and support to foster innovation and shape the decentralized landscape.

The Battle of Olympus will run from July 17 to September 17, 2024, with winners set to be announced in mid-September. For registration and more information, visit http://olympus.movementlabs.xyz.
